The Mets are struggling so far this year.
Beyond Johan Santana who has been great their pitching not
been consistant. The East will be a fight all year, so I
think the Mets are trying to hang in there until they their
pitchers back. They might not get the Pedro of old, but he is
the emotional leader of that team. The Mets play better when
he is in the dugout. When Pedro returns the front of the Mets
rotation will be stronger, I think that will make the rest of
the rotation better. Which will also light a fire in the Mets
offense. I still think the Mets will win their division in
the end, but if they don’ there will be major changes in the
offseason including the manager.

Out of Gas

Is it just me or are we all tired of hearing about Roger Clemens and Barry Bonds. The steroid accusations against both players may never be proven. However the proof is not just in their better stats the few years, but their physical appearence. When Barry Bond was with the Pirates in the early nineties he was pretty skinny, and a good defensive outfielder. Since he joined the Giants Barry has gotten bigger. When Roger Clemens was with boston he was smaller in size than today. I may be wrong on this one, but doesn’t steroid damage to your body. If Roger did not take steroids why has he been injured so much the last couple of years. When he was never injured with Boston. Barry Bonds at least is laying low, and not talking. Every time Roger talks he puts his foot in his mouth. Roger Clemens used to make a living throwing at guys heads. Is it such a big leap to think he used steroids to get ahead. These guys should just retire already and ride of into the sunset.

Revenue Sharing

I wonder why Major League Baseball does not
impose requirements on small market teams when it comes to
revenue sharing. I am talking about teams like Kansas City,
and Minnesota. They are getting money every year from the
likes of Boston, and New York. The thing is those small
market owners never invest that money into their payroll. I
know there has not been a repeat champion since the Yankees
won three in a row, but for the most part the same teams make
the playoffs every year. I think if small market teams had to
take their revenue sharing money and put it back into their
payroll. The regular season would be more exciting. Just
maybe different teams would make the playoffs as
well.
